SPRING 2025 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction is ramping up for the busiest season this project has seen. To date, the project has accumulated 513,707 manhours and is currently employing 211 personnel across various disciplines. As the project advances into subsequent phases, workforce numbers are expected to increase in the coming months to meet construction demands. A total of 1,254.91 linear metres of pipe for storm drainage was installed across the project area this spring.
Structure Foundations and retaining walls construction
The two abutment piles extensions for the new bridge structure were completed in mid-May, and construction of retaining walls will start in early June.
Road and Utility works
Work continues on the north and south trenchless storm line crossings, temporary lighting has been installed, and a pathway detour has been put in place on Southland Drive in preparation for the upcoming traffic change to facilitate the construction of a new traffic circle. Roadworks for the lane expansion are ongoing.
