- Improved safety and traffic flow by eliminating weaving traffic between Southland Drive and Anderson Road / Bow Bottom Trail
- Reconfigured intersection at Southland Drive to permit two lane access from eastbound Southland Drive toward southbound Deerfoot Trail and Anderson Road / Bow Bottom Trail
- Increased capacity by adding a third continuous lane in each direction on Deerfoot Trail and increased capacity on ramps with high traffic volumes
