ANDERSON ROAD &

BOW BOTTOM TRAIL

The girder erection of the new northbound bridge above the Anderson/Bow Bottom ramp is scheduled to begin the week of February 22, 2026.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

ON-RAMP CLOSURE

The on-ramps from Anderson Road SE and Bow Bottom Trail SE to northbound Deerfoot Trail will be temporarily closed to accommodate critical construction activities for the new northbound bridge. To safely complete girder erection, a large crane must be positioned and operated within the on-ramps. For the safety of workers and the public, these ramps must be fully closed during the lifting of girders overhead. Please see the map below.

TIMELINES

The work is scheduled to start on February 22, 2026, and is expected to last approximately four nights.

OVERNIGHT WORK

Girder erection work will take place during nighttime hours (9 pm to 5 am) to minimize traffic impacts and reduce disruption to traffic.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS

Residents in adjacent areas may hear noise related to heavy lifting equipment, such as cranes and trucks operating to position and secure girders; metal-on-metal contact during girder placement and bolting; backup alarms on construction vehicles for safety compliance; and occasional impact sounds from alignment adjustments.

All efforts will be made to mitigate the impact of noise and dust in this area.

USE ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Members of the public are advised to plan accordingly, use alternative routes, and allow additional travel time during the closure.

SPEED REDUCTION

For your safety, please obey onsite signage and posted speed limits.

Please be mindful of and obey onsite signage and traffic accommodations. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete these complex, multi-year improvements.
