GLENMORE TRAIL
Bridge girder delivery and installation for the new northbound bridge at the Glenmore Trail interchange is anticipated to begin the week of May 26th, 2025, weather permitting and will continue for several weeks. To facilitate the transportation, delivery, and installation of the girders, overnight lane closures and shifts in traffic patterns will be required.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
LANE CLOSURES DUE TO GIRDER DELIVERY
The girders for the new northbound bridge at the Glenmore Trail interchange will be delivered and installed at night, 9 PM to 6 AM
The following traffic impacts will occur in two stages as follows:
STAGE 1
- Traffic travelling eastbound on Glenmore Trail though the interchange will use the lefthand lane. This traffic change is expected to begin May 20, 2025, and be in place for approximately one week (only during the night), weather permitting.
- Access for traffic travelling eastbound on Glenmore Trail to Deerfoot Trail will remain open, please follow onsite signage and traffic patterns. Please see the map below for further details.
STAGE 2
- Once eastbound girder delivery is complete, traffic impacts will shift to westbound Glenmore Trail. Traffic travelling westbound on Glenmore Trail will use the lefthand lane.
- This traffic change is expected to be in place for approximately one week (only during the night), weather permitting.
- Access for traffic travelling westbound on Glenmore Trail to Deerfoot Trail will remain open, please follow onsite signage and traffic accommodations. Please see the map below for further details.
OVERNIGHT WORK
Girder delivery and erection activities will be performed overnight to reduce traffic impacts due to the lane closures required to complete this work.
TIMELINES
This work is anticipated to start the week of May 26, 2025, and last approximately two weeks. This is an estimated timeline, as work depends on favourable weather conditions for the transportation and installation of the girders.
SPEED REDUCTION
Speed reductions will be in place, for your safety, please obey onsite signage and posted speed limits.
