CONSTRUCTION

NOTICE

Starting on the week of June 23, 2025, hauling of fill material (soil) from the Southview Off-leash Area (OLA) for use on the project will be in effect. The Southview OLA will remain closed, and a temporary fence and signage have been put in place to protect the public.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

EQUIPMENT ON-SITE, FILL EXCAVATION & HAULING

Crews and heavy machinery will be active in the OLA to remove the fill material. Vehicles hauling fill will access the excavation site using 26th Street SE, crossing through 34 Ave SE, and exit the site using the Peigan Trail ramp to southbound Deerfoot Trail, as noted on the map below. Please obey all posted signage and remain outside the construction limits.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS

Nearby residents can expect increased noise and dust due to excavation and hauling activities. Water trucks will be on-site and will be used to mitigate dust during the hauling of material.

TIMELINE

Once begun, fill (soil) removal is expected to continue for the remainder of 2025. The Southview OLA will remain closed to public use until soil removal is fully completed. As progress is made, the public will receive further updates regarding timelines for this work.

24-HOUR WORK, 7 DAYS A WEEK

Excavating and hauling of fill material will occur seven days a week, during daytime and nighttime, to reduce overall traffic impacts during the transportation of fill material to the sites.

Please be mindful of and obey onsite signage and traffic accommodations. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete these complex, multi-year improvements.
