SOUTHLAND DRIVE
Girder installation for the new Southland bridge is scheduled to begin the week of February 25, 2026.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
GIRDER INSTALLATION
Girder installation will occur in two spans during daytime hours. No lane closures will be required to complete this work.
DAYTIME WORK
This work will be performed during daytime hours (approximately 6:00 am to 6:00 pm).
ANTICIPATED IMPACTS
Residents in adjacent areas may hear noises related to heavy lifting equipment, such as cranes and trucks operating to position and secure girders; metal-on-metal contact during girder placement and bolting; backup alarms on construction vehicles for safety compliance; and occasional impact sounds from alignment adjustments.
Efforts will be made to mitigate the impact of noise and dust on this area.
TIMELINES
The work is scheduled to start the week of February 25, 2026, and is expected to last approximately two weeks.
