ANDERSON ROAD &

BOW BOTTOM TRAIL

The delivery and installation of one of the new bridge structures’ bridge girders will start on the weekend of September 19, 2025. An off-ramp closure will occur to facilitate the transportation and delivery of the girders. This ramp closure will also serve to protect the public from the bridge demolition activities happening in this area. See onsite signage for details.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

RAMP CLOSURE DUE TO GIRDER DELIVERY

The new girders for the bridge over the Anderson/Bow Bottom ramp will be delivered and installed during the day.

The following ramp closures will occur as follows:

  • The Anderson/Bow Bottom ramp will be temporarily CLOSED from 9:00pm on September 19, 2025, until 5:00am on September 22, 2025, to protect the public during girder delivery.
  • All traffic travelling on Anderson Road and Bow Bottom Trail northbound to Deerfoot Trail northbound will need to seek alternate routes. Please see the map below for details

GIRDER DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION ACTIVITIES

The delivery and installation of half of the structure’s girders will occur in three spans during daytime hours, starting on the weekend of September 19, 2025.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS

Residents in adjacent areas may hear noises related to the crane lift used to install the girders, as well as clanking sounds from hammering pins. All efforts will be made to mitigate the impact of noise and dust on this area.

OVERNIGHT WORK
Overnight work will be taking place, and crews will be working 24 hours/days to complete the demolition.

TIMELINES

The work is scheduled to start the weekend of September 19, 2025, and is expected to last approximately six weeks.

The off-ramp closure is only scheduled for the first weekend: September 19-22, which will be the scope related to span three. After that weekend, the ramp will reopen, and all girder erection activities will occur with no impact on traffic.

SPEED REDUCTION

Speed reductions will be implemented throughout the work zones. For your safety, please obey onsite signage and posted speed limits.

Please be mindful of and obey onsite signage and traffic accommodations. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete these complex, multi-year improvements.
