ANDERSON ROAD &

BOW BOTTOM TRAIL

The southbound and northbound lanes on Deerfoot Trail between the Anderson Road SE interchange and 24 Street SE will be re-aligned to shift traffic off of the southbound lanes on Deerfoot Trail.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES ON DEERFOOT TRAIL – SOUTHBOUND & NORTHBOUND LANES
The realignment of lanes on Deerfoot Trail is required to prepare for upcoming bridge construction on southbound Deerfoot Trail at Anderson Road and Bow Bottom Trail SE. Before realignment of lanes on Deerfoot Trail, preparation work will take place which includes the removal of barriers, paving and installation of overhead signage. Motorists should expect multiple nightly lane closures along Deerfoot Trail northbound and southbound between the following areas:

  • 24 Street SE and Anderson Road SE (northbound)
  • Southland Drive SE and the Ivor Strong Bridge (southbound)

TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE
Beginning the week of MARCH 18, 2024 northbound lanes on Deerfoot Trail will be adjusted to prepare for the realignment of the southbound lanes. Following the adjustment of northbound lanes, the southbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail will be shifted onto the existing northbound bridge. This realignment will allow Deerfoot Trail to remain open to all traffi c, while work is completed on the existing southbound bridge.

TIMINGS
Alternating lane closures in effect on March 18, 2024 from 9:00 p.m. to April 10, 5:00 a.m. during realigment preparation work. The realigned traffic pattern is anticipated to come into effect the week of April 7, 2024.
